From The Principal

I am privileged to be the Principal of a school such as Cambridge Primary School, which has a long history of strong academic performance.  Our teachers understand what it takes to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully navigate the curriculum as 21st Century learners and fully participate and contribute to an ever changing, global community.

We have established a proud tradition of strong community values: Caring, Respect, Honesty, Resilience, Love of Learning and Positivity.  The Staff are passionate about educational success and committed to knowing their learners. We have a supportive and dedicated School Council and parent community who work together with staff to support our students to achieve their absolute full potential.

It is imperative to stimulate all aspects of a child’s developing and inquisitive mind. Our teachers work extremely hard to develop a curriculum that is rich and varied, ensuring all children experience a breadth of experiences to ignite interest and capture engagement.

Teachers are focused on preparing our students for the challenges and opportunities of an ever-changing world. Our values outline our commitment to each student’s personal growth throughout their educational journey at Cambridge Primary School. Staff provide a wide array of opportunities and genuine care and attention to every child’s learning both in and out of the classroom.

Students learn in vibrant, well-resourced learning environments that promote deep, critical thinking throughout their Primary years. Staff are involved in on-going professional learning that enables them to practice at the cutting edge of educational thought. We are a learning community that embraces innovation, creativity and best practise when it comes to learning and thinking strategies for our students. We seek to provide the best research based education, in developing the whole child.

Our House system is fundamental to building school pride. Each House promotes belonging and inclusion. Our aim is to build a value-rich culture at Cambridge Primary School that inspires all students to cultivate essential life skills, behaviours and attitudes so that they can be successful, contributing citizens in a global environment.

Whatever their age, students have the opportunity to be involved in lunchtime clubs, performance groups and leadership committees which deepen their experience of school, socially and academically.

Students who graduate from Cambridge Primary School have the greatest potential to be successful in life. They look back on their time at Cambridge with great fondness and treasure the many experiences and opportunities the school has provided them.

I believe that “learning is life long” and that children learn supported by an entire community that models and encourages this philosophy. Here children develop a strong sense that the world they dream of today is what they can make it tomorrow.
