At Cambridge Primary school, we offer a comprehensive program, which aims to challenge, extend and motivate all children. Activities are presented to provide children with the necessary skills and strategies to deal with maths situations in everyday life.

All classroom programs and assessment is in line with the Mathematics VELS (Victorian Essential Learning Standards) . The areas of:

Cambridge Primary School ensures that all children have equal access to the appropriate resources, concrete materials and technology needed for them to develop the necessary skills to achieve Maths learning outcomes. Teachers at Cambridge are encouraged to continuously develop skills through professional development and professional reading.

The program offered at Cambridge is sequential and provides many experiences for using maths skills in real life situations. Programs such as Earn and Learn and Family Maths Nights encourage a wide use of skills and also develops the confidence needed to use these real-life skills in our dynamic and ever changing world.

Our program includes incursions such as  the “World of Maths” and Maths competitions, such as the University of N.S.W Maths Competition, Maths Talent Quest and Maths-letics which encourages excellence in Maths.
